WALK UPDATES AND SHIRT PICKUP

First, for all those who are to get shirts I would ask to please see if you can make arrangements to pick up your shirts today, Thursday or Friday. Whatever shirts have not been picked up will be brought on Saturday to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 West Main Street Lansdale.

PLEASE CONTACT ME BY PHONE OR EMAIL AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE ABLE TO PICK UP YOUR SHIRTS AND WHAT DAY OR TIME IS BEST. I will then get back to you.

As to the walk itself the weather for SATURDAY does not look promising at this stage, I am praying it will change for the better. Nevertheless, we are RAIN OR SHINE for the walk as there is no rain date.

If rain is expected we will move everything prewalk indoors to Hyson Hall.

Because we are ALL VOUNTEERS the maximum amount of donation money we raise STAYS IN PENNSYLVANIA & IS USED TO HELP PENNSYLVANIA VETERANS IN NEED FROM ANY ERA OF SERVICE. On Sunday June 11th, 2017 the PA HERO WALK team of ALL VOLUNTEERS will begin our 9TH STATEWIDE WALK, beginning at the PHILADELPHIA ART MUSEUM & ending 14 DAYS & 320 miles later NE of PITTSBURGH.

Veterans Assistance At This Year's Walk

This year the VETERANS MINISTRY OF TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH will be assisting before and after the walk & as our partner has arranged for representatives of the MONTGOMERY COUNTY OFFICE OF VETERANS AFFAIRS OFFICE to be in attendance and offer assistance and guidance to veterans who have questions about benefits & veterans' issues. In addition, representatives of the MONTGOMERY COUNTY OFFICE OF RECORDER OF DEEDS will be on site to issue Veterans ID cards which will not only identify you as a veteran but allow the card holding veteran to obtain discounts from hundreds of local merchants.(Veterans who want to get the ID card should bring their DD-214 or other military discharge document to the walk)
