PA HERO WALK
Back in 2009 we never imagined that the PA Hero Walk would be leaving the steps of the
Philadelphia Art Museum eight years later. But here we are, seven years older, with the
same intense passion to show Pennsylvania that we care about our veterans. Our goal this
year, like every year, is to demonstrate the sacrifice that our men and women in uniform
make for our freedom by taking two weeks and walking 320 miles. We also plan on raising
$300,000 this year for our veterans!
Where do you fit into the PA Hero Walk? You can make a monetary donation to help our
veterans. You can show your support by joining us in a segment of the walk in June. You can
join us in one of the many towns along the route that hold a celebration for us and our
veterans. Or you can just say hello as we walk along our 320 mile trail.

A Change in the PA Hero Walk Philosophy
Since the first PA Hero Walk in 2009, the group has raised and given the Wounded Warrior
Project hundreds of thousands of dollars and have helped many veterans with their efforts. In
the winter of 2013 the group decided to make a change in 2014 and dedicate their fundraising
efforts to focus on Pennsylvania veterans from all branches and from all eras. Since this
change the group has raised over $400,000 and has received unanimous accolades for their
decision to keep the money raised in Pennsylvania to help Pennsylvania veterans.
Early in 2014 the group decided make donation to some organizations like Operation
Homefront, Meckling-Shakely Veterans Center, Veterans Multi Service Center in Philadelphia
and others. However going forward the group has decided to emphasize helping individual
veterans that need help in the following areas listed below.
- CAR AND HOME REPAIR
- APPLIANCE PUCHASE OR REPAIR
- UTLITY PAYMENTS
- AUTO PURCHASE
Currently we are only taking referrals from the following organizations listed below:
- COUNTY VETERANS AFFAIRS DEPARTMENTS (All of PA)
- SOLDIER ON (Select Counties in PA)
- VETERANS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (Pittsburgh only)
If you know of a Pennsylvania veteran in need of help, please refer them to one of the above listed organizations or our website at
Al Pulice, in conjunction with the Kiski Valley Veterans and Patriots Association (KVVPA), founded and created the PA Hero Walk and you can contact Al
